About: Sometimes in a man's life, he decides that he needs a change. I don't know, perhaps it's something in the wind, perhaps it's something in his blood, perhaps it's the way people start looking at you differently. But he wakes up and he realizes that some things can't stay the same, whether you want them to or not. I was born underneath a cloudy sky in North Dakota, and I that sky has followed me ever since. In 1939 I decided that I would rather live by my own hand, and I was 12 years old the day I chucked my bindle into a boxcar and headed to Cheyenne, looking for work. I found it. In 1949 I married my first wife underneath a pear tree in Wichita, Kansas. In June of 1950 I was down a silver mine in Bingham Canyon, Utah . Sometimes I sit back and I wonder if the best years have gone by. Most times I sit back and think of nothing at all. A wiser man than myself once said, "The present ain't nothin' but a word heard but not yet understood". I don't know. I never took much stock in words.
